01
Phone triage
You call 248-749-5329 and describe what you are seeing: a spinning meter, a warm floor, a stain on the ceiling, or water pooling near the water heater. We ask four or five questions, tell you what it sounds like, and give you a two-hour arrival window. Most calls in Pontiac get a same-day slot.
02
System isolation
On arrival we shut off the main, drain the lines, and isolate the supply side from the drain side. This takes 15 to 25 minutes and tells us whether the leak is on a pressurized line or a waste line, which changes every tool we reach for next.
03
Pressure and acoustic testing
We pressurize the isolated section with a pressure testing kit and walk the line with acoustic leak detection equipment. A pinhole in copper pipe makes a distinct high-frequency hiss that the microphone picks up through concrete. This step usually runs 30 to 45 minutes.
04
Thermal and video confirmation
A thermal imaging camera shows the temperature delta where water is moving behind a wall or under a slab. If the leak is in a drain line, we run a video pipe inspection camera through the cleanout to see root intrusion or a cracked joint directly. Two tools, two confirmations, one answer.
05
Repair and pressure test
We mark the spot, make the access cut, and repair the line with new copper pipe, PEX tubing, or a proper pipe fitting and solder joint. Then we re-pressurize the system and hold it for 30 minutes. If the gauge moves, we are not done. You get photos of the repair and the final pressure reading.
